[edit] Plot Summary

Tarmon Gaidon approaches. Signs of the Last Battle are increasingly evident, such as strange deaths, certain weaves (i.e., Keepings) beginning to fail, the dead walking, and indeed, reality itself seemingly shifting in odd ways.

[edit] Plot Developments by Character

Rand al'Thor is increasingly losing control of the one power to Lews Therin. He goes to meet with the daughter of the Nine Moons, but finds Semirhage instead. In the ensuing battle he loses a hand and his vision is damaged. Semirhage is captured.

Mat Cauthon leads his companions across Altara, eventually leaving the circus and rejoining a portion of the Band. They wreak havoc with Seanchan armies across the country, and make use of new weapons technology, including rudimentary bombs and guns. He returns Tuon to Seanchan forces, and she marries him, making him the Prince of the Ravens

Perrin Aybara makes a deal with the Seanchan to help destroy the Shaido forces in Altara that have captured Faile. He doses the town's water supply with forkroot, incapacitating the Wise One channelers, and attacks, breaking up the Shaido and destroying most of the Prophet's forces. He rescues Faile and company, although Aram turns on him and then is killed.
