Jaret Byar

Jaret Byar is a zealous member of the Children of the Light.

He has a long, gaunt face with deep set eyes. He is very skinny with tight skin over the top of his muscle and bone. He speaks with a flat gravelly voice with no emotion.

He originally served under Geofram Bornhald, to whom he was fiercely loyal. He was in the group that captured Perrin Aybara shortly after he became a wolfbrother. He hates Perrin as he fully believes he is a darkfriend. He is very rough on him while Perrin is held captive.

He is the one who reports to Pedron Niall about the decimation of Geofram's troop at Falme and the rise of another "false" Dragon.

After Geofram's death at Falme, he went to Dain Bornhald, his son, and is now as loyal to him as he was to Geofram.

He is now one of the followers of Galad Damodred. Surprisingly, he is also the one who quotes the catechism supporting the idea that the Children may ally with the Seanchan or the White Tower at the Last Battle to win against the Shadow.
